What is happening in The Room?

Ages 18 & Under: Join Us for Our Very First *Young Writers and Illustrators* Meet & Greet!!

Join other local youth from Wakefield, Stoneham, Melrose, Reading, Saugus, Lynnfield, North Reading, Wilmington, Winchester, and surrounding towns for an opportunity to connect with other young writers and illustrators (ages 18 & under) on Monday, March 19th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Boys & Girls Club of Wakefield (located in the Civic Center on Main Street, Wakefield).

This is a FREE and off-line opportunity to meet other youth who share the same interest in writing and art that you do. Special thanks to the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham and Wakefield, Kidcasso Art Studio, Lucius Beebe Memorial Library in Wakefield and Mass Love Distro for their enthusiastic support and participation as well as Kidcasso youth artist and Saugus High School Junior, Erin Rosa, for her accompanying illustration.

So, what's there to do? Bring your curiosity for creativity. Stop in for any length of time to create Illustration Trading Cards with Kidcasso, type on any or all of the SIX typewriters The Room to Write will have available (3 manual and 3 electric), learn all about Zines and how you can make your own with Mass Love Distro, meet with the youth librarian from Beebe Library in Wakefield, design a section of the Zentangle canvas art piece or just connect with other young people who share the same interests. Enjoy hot tea, coffee and--of course--hot cocoa with plenty of whipped cream will be provided along with some sweet treats to snack on.

Parents are welcome to accompany youth who would like to attend. If you have questions, suggestions or would like to let us know you plan to attend, please send a note to
