Many of our youth programs continue to be on hold while we spring back from living life during a pandemic.

When we had to postpone our annual Young Writers and Illustrators Meet, Greet, & Create event scheduled for March 2020, we reimagined it as a drive-thru event in the parking lot of the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham. We changed the name to Youth Book Bonanza and it was a huge success. Watch the video to see how it went and meet some of the authors who participated!

A Bit About the Instructor: Colleen Getty - After teaching ELA to middle schoolers and working part-time at Barnes & Noble for ten years while raising her four children, she Founded and became Director of The Room to Write, Inc which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that connects and supports writers and illustrators of all ages, abilities and means north of Boston providing those who want to write, love to write, and need to write with a quiet, communal and supportive space within which they are able to write and be creative

Colleen is a member of the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), Mass State Poetry Society, WCAT Board of Directors (2020-2023) & the Wakefield Cultural Council (2016-2022).
