Writing Music for The Wishing Hour with Singer/Songwriter Lisa Bastoni

Friday, April 21st at 7:00 pm in The Albion Cultural Exchange

(Add this event to your calendar.)    (RSVP)

Join us Friday, April 21st at 7:00 pm in The Albion Cultural Exchange located at 9 Albion Street, Wakefield, MA to learn about writing original music and the process of assembling an album. Singer/songwriter Lisa Bastoni will play a few songs from her newly released album The Wishing Hour and will take us all along on the journey a song travels from its origin, in a singer’s soul, on through to its anticipated destination—our ears.

The Wishing Hour, which was produced by Grammy-nominated songwriter/ producer Felix McTeigue, features performances by Josh Kantor, The Mastersons, Kelly Hogan, Naomi Sommers, Ellie Buckland and more. The UK Maverick declares, "Ten cracking tracks...the songs are Americana of the highest order, think along the lines of Gretchen Peters or Patty Griffin, with high quality musos to match."

You do not want to miss this up-close and personal look at the musician behind the music. Coffee and tea will be available along with something for your sweet tooth. This is a free event sponsored by The Room to Write and The Albion Cultural Exchange, however, donations of any amount will be collected along with 10% of The Wishing Hour CD purchases to benefit Wakefield Music Boosters who support the performing arts in Wakefield and the future singer/songwriters among us.

Writing Music for The Wishing Hour with Singer-Songwriter Lisa Bastoni:

Magic happened the night Lisa Bastoni shared her story and her music with us at The Albion Cultural Exchange on Friday, April 21, 2017! Accompanied by the guitar passed down to her from her grandmother, Lisa talked about what inspires her songs and some of the sweet details that mingle together to yield her soul-inspiring sound. She shared a few songs with us, introduced us to a few books that have guided her path along the way and was surprised to discover she had really hit a chord with some of the young girls in attendance.

Lisa is so very talented and we were so grateful to have her stop by The Albion Cultural Exchange and share her gifts with us all. If you would like to learn more about her music and her upcoming shows visit: www.lisabastoni.com. Enjoy the photos from the event!

Writing Seriously From Scratch with Chef Joe Gatto:

It was a great night at Write After Dinner: Writing Seriously From Scratch with Chef Joe Gatto held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at The Albion Cultural Exchange!

It was a fun community event thanks to Chef Joe Gatto and the Albion Cultural Exchange. We raised money and collected lots of food for the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry. Thank you to Chef Joe Gatto for showing us how to make fresh mozzarella that was so delicious with the roasted peppers and for sharing so much of his expertise with us all.

Cooking from scratch doesn't seem so scary now. Here are some photos from the evening:
